Estimates and prices
Do you charge to come and look at my roof?
No. The inspection is free, and so is the quotation that follows, with no obligation to go ahead.
Book a free inspectionHow much does an estimate cost?
Nothing. Estimates are free, and there’s no obligation to go ahead.
Can you price the job from photos?
Usually, yes. Send us photos through the form (choose “Get a quick estimate from photos”) or on WhatsApp and we’ll come back with a price. If you go ahead, we visit first to confirm the details before any work starts.
Get a free estimateWhat photos should I send?
Whatever you can take safely from the ground, a window or the loft: the whole roof, then closer shots of the problem. Never climb onto the roof yourself.
How much does a new roof cost?
It depends on the size and shape of the roof, the materials, scaffolding and access, and whether any timbers need replacing. Our guide explains what affects the price.

Commercial roofingRoof problems
My roof is leaking. What should I do?
Put a bucket under the drip and move anything valuable. If it’s safe, look in the loft to see where the water is getting in. Then call us or send photos on WhatsApp.
Is it worth repairing an old roof?
Often, yes. Most leaks need a repair, not a new roof. We only suggest replacing a roof when the slates, tiles or battens are at the end of their life, and we’ll show you why.
Roof repairsDo I need planning permission for a new roof?
Not usually for a like-for-like re-roof. Listed buildings, conservation areas and changes to the roof’s shape have stricter rules.
When to check with the councilWhat is a dry ridge?
A way of fixing the ridge tiles with clips and screws over a ventilated strip, instead of bedding them in mortar. There’s nothing to crack or wash out.
Dry ridge and vergeCan a new flat roof go over the old felt?
We don’t recommend it. Covering old felt hides any wet or rotten deck underneath, so we strip it, check the deck and replace what’s needed.
