Bungalows, extensions and flat roofs
Bungalows, holiday homes and extensions often have flat roofs on garages, dormers and back extensions. When the old felt fails, we replace it with GRP fibreglass or EPDM rubber, on a sound new deck.
Between Bridlington and Scarborough
Filey is about ten miles up the coast from Bridlington. We cover the town and the villages around it, including Hunmanby, Muston, Reighton and Speeton.
Filey is a small town with a lot of variety on its roofs: Victorian terraces and villas near the seafront and the Crescent, cottages in the older streets, and bungalows and holiday homes on the edge of town.

Filey Bay faces the North Sea, so wind-driven rain is the test for every roof in town. Worn ridges, slipped slates and tired flashings are the usual weak points, and the cheapest time to fix them is before they leak.

A small split or blister in felt can be patched. But if the felt is cracked all over, or the deck underneath has gone soft, a patch won’t last, and it’s time for a new roof: a new deck where it’s needed, then GRP or EPDM on top.
Flat roofsBoth last well when they’re laid on a sound deck. GRP (fibreglass) sets hard and copes with being walked on; EPDM is a single sheet of rubber that copes well with movement. We’ll recommend one for your roof and explain why.
We’ll come and look at your roof, then send you a quotation. No deposit, and no obligation. Or send a few photos for a quick estimate first.
