Roofers in Beverley

Beverley is about 22 miles from our base in Bridlington. We cover the town and the villages around it, including Walkington, Cherry Burton, Leconfield and Tickton.

Beverley has ten conservation areas, from the Minster and the North Bar to the Market Place and the Westwood, with streets of Georgian and Victorian houses between them. Around the old town are terraces, semis, bungalows and newer estates.

Around the Minster and the North Bar

In Beverley’s old streets the roofs, chimneys and leadwork are part of the town’s character, and repairs are expected to match. We take care over the details: chimney pots and flaunching, lead flashings and valleys, and slates and tiles that match the ones already there.

Family homes and bungalows

Away from the centre, most houses and bungalows have concrete tiles. The usual problems are worn ridges and verges, slipped tiles and tired felt underneath, and a dry-fix ridge and verge is a lasting answer to the first two.

Roofing in Beverley: your questions

Something else? See all our questions, or give Alfie a ring.

Do I need permission to re-roof in Beverley?

Not usually for like-for-like work. Beverley has ten conservation areas covering much of the old town, so if you live in one, or want to change how your roof looks, check with East Riding of Yorkshire Council first. A listed building needs listed building consent for most changes.

Planning permission for a new roof
How do I know if my roof needs replacing?

Lots of slipped or cracked tiles, daylight or damp in the loft, sagging between the rafters, and felt that’s torn or crumbling are all signs. One or two of these may only need a repair. We’ll tell you which, from your photos or a visit.
