New white fascia, soffit and guttering along a rendered house, with a brick chimney breast

Gutters, fascias and soffits

Gutters, fascias and soffits

The roofline keeps rainwater off your walls. When it fails, the damp shows up somewhere else.

Gutters that leak at the joints, sag or overflow send rainwater down the face of the wall, where it soaks into the brickwork and finds its way inside. Behind them, timber fascias and soffits rot, and let birds and draughts into the roof.

We repair and replace guttering and downpipes, and renew tired fascias and soffits, so the bottom edge of the roof is sound and the water goes where it should.

Signs your roofline needs attention

Things you can usually spot from the ground, a window or the loft. Never climb onto the roof yourself.

  • Water spilling over the gutter in heavy rain
  • Drips from the joints or brackets
  • Gutters sagging or pulling away from the wall
  • Flaking paint and soft, rotten fascia boards
  • Damp patches or green staining on the wall below

Great from start to finish

Would really recommend these guys, great to see young skilled people doing honest work that are super reliable. A great communication from start to finish and couldn’t rate them high enough. Our roof was complex with 6 apex’s and they seemed to love this,

Questions

Something else? See all our questions, or give Alfie a ring.

Do overflowing gutters just need clearing?

Sometimes. If they’re blocked with moss and leaves, clearing them may be all that’s needed. If they still overflow, they may have dropped out of line, or be too small for the roof.

Can fascias be replaced without touching the roof?

Usually, yes. Sometimes the bottom row of tiles or the felt at the eaves needs attention too, and we’ll check while we’re there.
